Re: The M17s have arrived!
You answered my question better than expected, thank you for taking your time in such a detailed answer. I didn't know that you could actually "ship" a hamster. I think that's awesome. Anyway it's clear that you're doing a great work, with pet shop hamsters or not.
I know about breeders that give you the creeps. Here in spain there aren't reputable breeders that I know of, and when I knew about a past breeder in my city I almost fainted, I'm glad she stopped, because she was having them in the worst conditions that you can imagine (so I don't wanna know about the lines, but I don't need to seeing that kind of things)

Good! I'm glad it helped. You can ship them in certified pet safe containers; it's expensive though! Thank you. I hope we can do justice with the robos, even if they're pet shop crew.
Oh dear. I'm so sorry! I've had some really rotten experiences with "breeders" too. It's just so sad and abysmal.

Re: The M17s have arrived!
This litter makes me smile a lot. Your 2nd litter pups are Grand pups to my ST's Habib through Toby while my 1st litter of 2017 are grand children to SBH Ahuva who was the Daughter of Ameretto who was the Son of ST's Shiloh X ST's Darissa. What great accomplishments you have become from that day in New York when you brought home a Pregnant Darissa and took home also two other pups which became named Chia, and Pekoes. Then through ST's Habib and ST's Pekoes you began your adventure in improving the Extreme Dilute gene in Canada with SBH Toberlone, and the equally lovely Dulce. I enjoy seeing you grow and am happy to hear you are training to Judge. Look forward to seeing this litter grow and continue your improvements.

That's lovely! Best of luck with your litter. It's so interesting to see how much lines change through the years.

Haha, thanks!
Mumma Jubi is still doing very well. She had a very angry jellybean this morning who got excluded from the nursing pile I assume, but eventually she shifted. She's managed to build a bit better of a nest now, and is underneath a small cardboard box, so no more sneak peeks from me! I am able to see under the bin, but I try to limit looking except to just make sure all looks well. I don't want to hover and make her feel stressed.

If our Hamsters don't change from the original Foundation Hamsters then we wouldn't be doing the Species much good No?

She has been very good. I was indeed worried as she is a bit more reactive than my hamsters usually are. Toby was the best pairing for her temperament wise because of that, he's very laid back and mellow.

Of course! It's so interesting to see how selection and pairing does affect the resulting offspring. I'm so very excited to start crossing Starbuck's pups into my ED line especially, as they need some type improvement. There are always things to improve with any hamster, and it's up to us to make the best pairings that compliment strengths and weaknesses. If you're not improving the species, you have no business breeding, that's for sure!

Re: The M17s have arrived!
Unfortunately we lost three very small runty pups from Jubilee over yesterday to today. Similarly to her mother, she didn't cull them. I knew they weren't doing too well since they were so small compared to their siblings.
Sadly, nature is cruel and unpredictable. Jubi is being a really wonderful mother so I know it's not anything she's done.
Rest in peace babies Muffin, Melon and Miso. We love you very much. x

Re: The M17s have arrived!
So sorry to hear that Hekomi, nature is cruel sometimes & it must be hard to lose your little ones.
Run free at the bridge Muffin, Melon and Miso.
