Mini eggs born on 5th May

After almost a year off breeding my Syrians I decided it was time to start again, I was missing having them around here. I had dad chosen about 10 months ago, he is my Golden recessive dappled carrying rust and black called Lion. I had to set on the challenge of finding mum to be, I was very lucky and found a golden girl at Roma hamstery who fitted perfectly with what I wanted. She was a golden carrying rust, black and recessive dappled.

The mini eggs were born between about 11.45pm on 4th May and 6am on 5th May. It was so lovely to hear the sound of pups again! Creme egg is a fantastic mum and is very attentive, she has had a very open nest since day 1 which meant I was lucky to see the babies as little pinkies. As her nest was so open I was extra careful when near her cage to make sure there was no noise made that would upset her.

When the pups were 15 days old they opened their eyes, this made me very excited as they had been teasing me since day 13 when I saw 3 pups had 1 eye open each but they decided to still walk around with their eyes shut until day 15. This meant I could do first handling and mum could have a little break away which she was looking forward to. The pups surprised me and were very calm for their first handling especially the 1 boy in the litter. He casually walked onto my hand and just sat there and had a wash!
