I am so happy she's come through so well. Such a little thing. You have to give the vet credit. I can't imagine trying to work on a living thing that small.

I am sorry that the breeding didn't go so well. I've decided on boys for the most part so I don't even get tempted to breed a hammy. I've been lucky in my years with rodents and never lost a hammy or the babies. But the dice has gotta go wrong at some point. Besides, I am finding hamster rescue pretty satisfying at this point.

Someday I really have got to get a Chinese hamster. They are just too adorable for words. Hope both do well.

Superb work done by your vet, a good pair of gentle and steady hands.

Zuli had her post-op check and she's doing well. We're carrying on the meds for another few days. Apparently her uterus in a little preservative pot has been of great interest in the practice! It looks like it was more tumour than pyo from what the operating vet said so definitely better out than in.

Nin had her surgery today and is home in the Vectis Hammy Hospital Wing. Her lump was a pouch abscess and apparently lots of nasty green gunk came out of it! She has to stay on her antibiotics for another 10 days.

I have more good news - more babies have arrived! The first Campbell litter at Vectis

Lots of good news!
I've been wondering how little Nin got on today, so pleased she & Zuli are both doing well.

Your first Campbell litter is exciting, can't wait to see the little fur balls when their eyes open!

I'm so glad to hear that Nin's surgery went well and that Zuli is recovering.

I'm not surprised that her uterus has been a source of fascination at the vets, I can't imagine that many of them have ever seen a uterus of an animal that small.

Congratulations on your Campbells litter btw.

Good news all round! It must have been a worrying time though, but glad both Mums are well after their ops. Looking forward to seeing the Campbells babies
