Oh, and Cayley's pedigree is very short. Her father is Sir Grumps-A-Lot, and her mother is Princess. Both were pet shop hamsters, purchased for Princess' excellent type and Sir Grumps' yellow genes, and the fact that I needed a new line to breed with my existing lines.

Sir Grumps, although ugly and of a bad temperament, is reaching his old-man-ham years, and I'm hoping he proves to be long-lived. Princess is 21 months old and going strong, so I am quite pleased with them both. Cayley was the best of their litter, and I actually am much happier with this line of yellows than the other that started with better type, because there is no (as of yet) sternum bone deformities in this line. (I have had 2 with it in the other line.)

Awww your golden keeper is wonderful.

So glad I will be able to follow number 6 on here in his new home to be with Nancy. I have recently bought a boy a bit like 3.

What a great thread full of sweet hamsters.

Breed her to Foma Seriously He would complement her and or use Harper to her though his Sister is sitting on three cream or yellowcream pups so Harper has a higher chance now to carry cream. I still have the beautiful Satin Golden guy(not sure on a name yet though) Also do you have and actual Hamstery name?

The official name is Hamster Tracks. I was wondering how you got your initials "ST"... does it stand for something? Should my hams be "HT's so-and-so"?

Harper is an absolutely lovely guy, and definitely one of the ones lined up for "best male".

Sadly, I can only make 3 matches, and I'm not sure who the lucky ones will be just yet, except for probably Brown Baby so that I can get more pure goldens. (Maybe I'll get one as lovely as her with just that match!) He will probably be first, since he is closing in on his 2 year mark.

I'll consider Foma. It would give more rust carriers. But I suspect someone else will win out in the end since I have 3 rust carrier litters going... I have a while to figure it out yet though!

Well, Nancy, I will keep Winston for one more test breed. I'll try him with an ivory, and see if there are any cream pups. That should decide things for sure!

If you are following along with the Photo of the Month thread you'd have learned what ST's stands for but it's easier to just repeat it here it stands for Star Trek and was my Kennel name when I showed and raised Cardigan Welsh Corgi Dogs. With the dogs if a buyer was not a Star trek fan we said it stood for Show Time

Yes any pups bred by you would start the name with HT's ____________, from Hamsters bought from another breeder you often put Your hamstery initials in the ending of the name for and example ST's Harper of Hamster Tracks.
When read in a Pedigree this name shows that the hamster was bred by ST's Hamstery but owned by Hamster Tracks. For the Golden Pup I would do HT's ????????? of ST's Hamstery

Well, I'm glad you all agree that number 5 was special. I was sure he was simply a satin REC ghost yellow... but I do hope for honey-yellows and honey-blacks this year. We're lined up for it with Mr. Honey (no name just yet, but I want it to be something "royal") being a black carrier. So if #5 was one of those colors, hopefully I will see it again soon.

Erin, I'm glad you like the satin golden boy too. Of course, if you were interested in any hamsters from PA, I'd be happy to bring one for you too, just let me know who you might be looking for.
