Default Is it possible...?

This may be a little outstretched theory, since i had only two females which ever got pregnant, and the first one - when I was a kid. Second is my Maggie, but i guess it's worth asking.

Can late pregnancy elongate female hamster's lifespan?

Just for you to understand where I am coming from, I've read in few places than pregnancy can even shorten hamster's lifespan, yet my own personal experiences are telling me the exact opposite. The first hamster I owned that had babies was an agouti ww dwarf named Spot. Actually it was my mother who bred her, thinking it would be great experience for me to watch babies grow. Of course my mom isn't somebody who is interested in researching the topic, might have been unaware of the risks, and so was I, being like... 10 years old? Doesn't matter now. That wasn't a responsible breeding at all. What matters is, Spot was fairly old, for sure more than a year old when she got pregnant. And then, call it beginners luck or a motherly instinct, she gave birth to 8 pups and raised all of them to adulthood without complications.
The thing is, Spot was my oldest hamster ever - she lived up to four years, unfortunately died because of a turmor that started to develop on her hind leg in the end of her third year of life. Not that my mom would pay for an operation of such little animal, vet also wasn't helpful, as my mom told me, he put her down when her state was too bad. Doesn't matter. She still lived an uncommonly long life and I loved her dearly.

And now for Maggie. She had two litters, for full story of it you can look in her thread. One litter she had in age of 1 year and three months, second when she was one year and five-six months and, as for the litters, she also delivered both of them without problems, and raised them both without a single loss in numbers. Now she is starting her third year of life and is doing just fine - no cancers, no eye problems, no oddly growing teeth, no diabetes - it looks almost unlikely, especially for a hybrid (or maybe hybrids are generally healthier in poland? Never had a pet shop hamster with diabetes or cataracts in my life, and i had a lot off dwarves) - maybe i'm speaking too soon, but she already went beyond the average lifespan of her species.

Two examples aren't exactly enough to call it unbeatable evidence, could have beed a really lucky coincidence, but: Is it possible that pregnancy in later age make a female hamster live longer? [A single, maybe double pregnancy, not "don't know how many with really short breaks"]
Is it possible, that first time moms that got pregnant in older age would be less possible to eat or abandon babies due to "not feeling ready to rise them"?

I know that some mammals, along with us, people, can improve health-wise during pregnancy because nature predicted that we're gonna need some extra vitality for raising these children. Can that be the case also for hamsters?

I don't think so, although I could be wrong.

The first thing that sprung in my thoughts was were these two girls born with you or bought at a store and a bit older then the normal age of a pet store hamster? Unless you knew exact date of birth for both girls and had undeniable proof that they had never had any litter before I would suspect they probably weren't 1st time moms. As for their long lives I think that has a huge amount to do with your care of them and feeding and housing in a proper way which allowed them to live so long.

Glad they both lived so long for you and had no complications birthing at older ages.

Actually, now that I think of it, when mom brought Maggie she was already full sized dwarf... it could be possible that she had litter before. I don't remember so well with Spot, but she came from pet shop too, so I can't be sure about her precise date of birth
