Yes, Ohio may be ahead. I do, however, have 2 current litters in addition to the 2 expected.

I hope to post pictures of Cadance x ST's Avisha's pups on Thursday. (7 ED carriers!) They will be 3 weeks then. My 1 1/2 week old litter is also another small, 7-pup litter, but I have my first yellow in it! (So exciting!!!!!) Pictures of that litter will be a while, because they are just barely beginning.g to venture out of the nest.

If you have some of Nancy's hamsters you must be close to Ohio. So it looks like the mid-west is leading the forum.

Lol. I am actually in PA, but I'd be happy to be part of the leading geographical area.

Well four are looking a bit rounder then before bred but I don't count litters until their here as I have had some absorb at this time of season as it is still rather wintery outside temperature wise, and sun light wise. I actually bred six girls but one, didn't take and one already shows she is not pregnant as she would be due tomorrow and came back in heat. Next two are due on the 5th with, one due on the 6th, and the last due on the 1oth IF they all took and birth.

Oh and SmBanks Mama2six drove round trip 16 hours to collect the 4 hamsters she bought. I am greatful to be able to assist her in getting some pedigreed hamsters and in willingly helping the Rust gene to continue to improve on the eastern side of the USA.

SIX, Nancy? Wow. Lol. I know the feeling though... I think I had four or five in a row not come, and I took to breeding 3 every two weeks. I am back down to 2 at a time for now.

LOL all my Chocolate hamsters came from a well known Hamstery in Michigan and I wouldn't have them at all if not for the kindness of another Hamstery in Michigan and I am a Born and raised Michiganer so watch what your asking Tee hee

For those who are wondering The state of Michigan and the state of Ohio are right above and below each other and have had a never-ending grudge with their sports College world for years and years. It is not a vengeful war but one that still lingers this very day when it comes time for Ohio State University to compete against University of Michigan and all this rib jabbing is done in total fun of the history of the war.

I wouldn't call it a competition as Ohio State wins every year. But there was an actual war over a 15 mile border dispute in which Ohio won like usual.

Yes six, However I didn't breed the five until I knew the 1 hadn't took. I normally only breed two litters at a time but had some Rust carrier females getting close to that sad time when they are too unsafe to breed for a 1st time litter. I'm rather excited on two of the four as they are two Black Torts who are also Hetero and Homo polywhite bred to a Satin Golden Dominant Spot Banded Hetero Polywhite male who was born and raised here. One is a possible Rust carrier Black Tort Banded who was attempted to be bred to my young Chocolate male but he was only interested for a little time before he tired out, so to be sure she got bred I also used Lavi (who I knew would get the job done) who is a Rust carrier Yellow. Would rather the first male been successful as it would beyond any doubt show if she is Bb or BB, where Lavi is just a carrier of Rust so it will be only a 25% chance of Chocolate IF she carries for rust, and if she doesn't it will be a 50/50 chance the none chocolate/rust pup will carry for it and only way to know will be to breed that pup back to a Chocolate/rust mate.
