Default It must be a family trait...

A few months ago I posted about my Winter White, Amethyst, having had a litter and hidden the fact until the pups came out of the nest.

I paired her sister in November but she had not shown any sign of baby bumps or attitude so I just assumed she may not want to conceive. She has been handled and interacted normally.

Then today I saw a pup wandering around...looks to be about 2 weeks old already! I gobsmacked!! Turns out she has had 4 pups in all and they look in fine fettle.

I am so proud of her...she is a good Mum like her sister

Congratulations! Clever girl to hide her pups. Love to see some eyes open pics.

She is a bit wary about me being around them at the moment but at the weekend I am sure I will be able to get something sorted. They are amazing little things! I am spoilt at the moment with my Robo pups too!

One of the perks of being a breeder...the downside is when you have to rehome them or lose them in tragic circumstances...but if not for the bad you would not appreciate the good.

Hehe Surprise!!!
Imagine a Syrian with a litter of nine pulling off this stunt. I had rescued( AKA Bought) a lovely female like 5 week old just in age Black banded Syrian. She was smaller in size then a full grown WW, and was in a cage with huge adult males. I never thought about her even being able to mate yet as she was just so small. The males were starting to maul her and I felt so sad for her I figured I'd buy her, tame her, and then find a much better pet home for her. I brought her home and put her in my Quarantine room. Poor little thing was terrified of about everything. Never showed any Baby bumps and I hardly got to see her in that 14 day period. I went up to tend her and get ready to move her as she had went beyond the quarantine period, and low and behold I come upstairs to see 6 little pups staring back at me. Once eyes opened I determined she had to have had the litter just 2 days of arriving here. ended up being 9 healthy pups who at 4 weeks old were the same size as their Mom.

Both Mom and Pups were all successfully pet homed.

I love the fact that they constantly manage to surprise and amaze. Clearly baby bumps are not that bumpy on some hams! lol

The four pups are simply the most cuddly and chilled hammies I have ever met! They are absolutely beautiful and it is going to be very hard having them go to new homes.

Just charging my camera now...should be easy enough taking photos by myself with these little loves!

Got a couple of nice pics today. They continue to amaze me by how tame they are. They seem to be totally fine with being handled and one just wants to lie there and be stroked! I will try to get a photo of that later today.
