Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
Last night my dreams were all stress dreams about me breeding hamsters and becoming overrun with them and babies fighting and not having enough cages because they kept multiplying like gremlins. Aaaahhhhh!!
All because of one post in this thread lol I told my bf about it and he looked a little panicked until I told him that it was still JUST a dream and years away if it ever happens.
I would love to be able to go to some shows but flights and accommodation are expensive so it's going to have to wait a while. Having one closer to home would be so great

Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
I'm beginning to think that Elsa is a hamster farm hamster. Just because of how she acts and maybe her low immune system.
Sorry I haven't been replying on here - I've just been so wrapped up with Elsa being ill.

Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
No not at all, I realised that and then I felt awful yeah see I know another girl who had health problems with her little hammy that she got from p@h. That's why Im not kean in getting hamsters from there. It's down to the breeding of them. In saying that I'm sure there are people who have got from there and they are ok, guess it's hit and miss. The antibiotics are hard even on humans but with lots of care and attention she will hopefully pull through.

Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
hi guys, i have found all your comments very interesting, there seems to be quite a lot of interest in starting up hamster showing over here again, i was the person who started the Kilkeel hamster club in 1997, the Northern Ireland Hamster Club was formed a couple of years later, we held shows in Kilkeel, Newry, Bangor, Lisburn, Lurgan, Newcastle and Hollywood. I am seriously thinking about restarting hamster showing and have found the same problem as yourselves NO BREEDERS !!, i will put out a few feelers and see what happens, good luck with your hammies.

Oh that sounds exciting! If there are shows will they breed? Nothing like a little competition. Did you breed fatpat?

Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
Hi Piebald, I did indeed breed hamsters, i had over 50 at one time, our shows would average around 50ish hamsters with our biggest shows having over 80 hamsters, would you be interested in showing hamsters yourself ?.

Re: Belfast / Northern Ireland breeders?
Hey I'm only seeing this thread now. It's been so long since I've been on here. I've just posted a thread re: you starting up again with breeding and showing as wasn't sure if you had already posted on here yourself as its a good place to start to let people know.
