At this point I'm glad we still have the old style chew guards available as this is not the first mishap with Hamsters getting stuck in yours and not only pups either. I think I would be searching for a witty invention that would permanently prevent any more Hamsters even be able to get in those guards.

Pekoe already did the same thing, though she chewed the bottle and drained it, and managed to get out. I moved the bottle up after that, but didn't think the pups would get in so stupidly lowered it to make sure thy'd drink. I believe this is an old style of holder though. I changed them to a newer one.
Decaf was so upset! It broke my heart. I imagine Dulce was crying and Decaf didn't know what to do. I do think if Decaf hadn't been running around I wouldn't have checked on them that early, as usually I wake up to prepare Andrew's lunch and go back to bed. Thank goodness I checked.
We bought a 16oz bottle to fill the guard so it won't happen again. Even still, I'm using a different guard for these guys. This morning she is doing well and fine, and back to her normal weight.
