Syrian Sexing (Pics Included)

Hey all

Recently i bought Goose my syrian hamster from manchester pets and aqautics, and its a really nice hamster, very tame and active, nice clean fur, feels nice and strong and general appearence is very healthy however the shop told me it was a male, but having seen my girlfriends hamster smokey a male long haired syrian and the fact she likes to point out how massive his testicles are, hehe - i had a look at Goose and couldnt see testicles. So having read a few guides on the internet and flicking through several forums i think he is a she! But im not 100% so ive taken a few pics, both genital views and top/general pics of the hamster as a lot of people seem to be able to tell better from top down pics than underside pics.



Any help would be much appreciated!

I think you are right and Goose looks like a lady. The vents are close together and I think I can just see the nipple lines in the first pics. Look in the fur for nipple lines. Only females have these and they are easier to see on pale coloured hamsters. Goose is an unusual colour. She is definitly satin and she has the look of a roan about her. What colour is she in real life?
Sometimes when the weather is cold though the testicles retract quite far back inside and also in young hamsters they are less obvious. There are pics on the WIKI of male and female syrians.

Ill check for niplpes later, stressed her enough for now getting those pics

about her colour she is pretty much like that in the flesh, camera had no flash and room fairly well lit with natural light.
