Simba the Super-Stud!
My Yellow Banded Longhaired Satin boy seems to be particularly fertile! In 3 litters he has already sired 40 babies including one litter of 18 which is the biggest any of my hamsters have ever had!(although sadly they all died). The female I have pregnant by him now (due 19th) looks like could be having a big litter too...

Re: Simba the Super-Stud!
Haha yeah, I had a male (Mr Squishy) who mated loads of different females but NONE got pregnant, then in his first litter there was minimum of 21 entire babies and lots of bits, i tried fostering over 3 but only one has survived.
For his first litter after being infertile, he produced 21+ babies LOL, we will soon see his second litter lol

Re: Simba the Super-Stud!
Funny enough, Simba did also 'miss' with one female but think that was down to her as she went WEEKS without showing any signs of being in season..
Reckon Sooti will have her babies overnight, mine USUALLY give birth the night preceding due date when having a larger litter..

Re: Simba the Super-Stud!
Despite looking big Sooti only had 6 babies (that I know of!, they were born overnight) and 1 was dead when i checked at lunchtime still makes Simba's average 11.5 a litter!

Re: Simba the Super-Stud!
Well even 1 healthy pup that makes it is a success isn't it? Hope the litter does well, and in my experience, 5 is a magic number for having huge healthy pups

Re: Simba the Super-Stud!
The day he was 2 months old Rafiki already appears to be following in dad's footsteps (well nothing to do with his feet! ). Obviously I wouldn't dream of breeding from his litter sister this young but its different for boys!!
