Another Litter!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I have just come back from shopping and found another litter has just been born!!
It definately wasnt here this morning when the other two litters were born as i checked the nest area because i could here the 'chirping' of the other ones!
This is the trio who were moved into the new clear bottom cage last week - a Husky dad!!
So might be some Husky babies in this litter - there are 4 or 5 so far, but there might be more to come as she has looked very big for the last 4 or 5 days
Just getting a little over excited, lol! sorry
Tammy x

Let us know how things go

Thanks Spuds Mum
I will definately keep you all updated!
One thing i was wandeing about though - hope you dont mind me asking, but after heaing all of the 'chirping' from the Robo babies (the shed now sounds like a bird house, lol! with chirping from three litters of hour old babies!!) - i heard another sort of squeak and strained to listen to it to determine where it was coming from.
Surprisingly, it was coming from my 'Panda' my female Syrian who has recently been separated from her babies - i just wanted to know if this might be because of the Robo baby sounds? Is it distressing her, listening to other babies when she doesnt have her own anymore ?
Do you think she would be better off out of the shed?
Sorry, it's just that have never had this problem before as i have never had a Syian litter before??
Thanks,
Tammy x

Congratulations Tammy - 3 litters in one day!
I have no idea whether Panda is distressed but my Syrians do make a squeaking noise often. It sounds a bit like a squeaky wheeze - like a dogs toy. They do it whether they have had babies or not - my males do it too.

Congrats on another litter!
I doubt Panda's squeaking has anything to do with missing her babies, their maternal instinct goes out of the window pretty much as soon as the pups are weaned keep your eye on her but it's probably nothing

Thanks Guys,
i didnt think it would be anything to do with the Robo babies, but it just seemed strange.
She does make small squeaks sometimes - usually she is begging for treats , but this was different some how, and she was racing around the cage scent marking everything with her sides up against eveything!
Never mind, i will keep an eye on her.
Thanks,
Tammy x

Hi Tammy,
I'm pretty sure that Panda is doing fine without the 'young uns' but I do find that my syrians seem to get noisier after having a litter for some reason. Princess now wakes up every evening with a series of squeaks! don't know why, but her babies are 6 months now, so Im pretty sure she's not missing them!
What may be happening to Panda is coming into heat again after being separated from the pups. All mine seem to come onto heat really strongly the first time afterwards, and seem to make the same noises and behaviour that you describe.
I'm sure she will soon settle

Thanks Spud's Mum,
that's make sense, yes, maybe she is in season again.
Why didnt i think of that
Do female Syrians stop coming into heat as they get older?

Yes Tammy, at about a year old or so they will stop standing. Though of course, just like humans, they are individuals and the age can alter from one to another.
