My normal Chinese girl, Raven, was mated to Persil: Small but Mighty, another normal Chinese, at the start of May and I was pleased to hear baby squeaks on the morning of 1st July. I saw my first glimpse of a wobbly toddling dark baby today at the age of 5 days, though Raven soon herded it back into the nest.
Raven is a private but sweet girl who has had one litter with me - a single pup in the Celeven litter in January. The Rasils are her second, and last litter. She still shows uneven fur from the bites she received back in December so she doesn't go to shows, but her son has been doing well. She has lovely colour, and although her body type and size aren't perfect, her head is nice. This is Raven a couple of days before she gave birth:
Percy (officially known as "Persil: Small but Mighty") is another sweetie and very laid back. He came over from Holland at the end of last year. He was teeny tiny when I picked him up at Bradford Champs in January but he's grown (thankfully!) since then. He's got the type, but his colour isn't great, so I'm hoping for pups with mum's colour and dad's type. I'm expecting all normals.
Some of you may recognise Percy as the ham that features in the Vectis Hams facebook page cover photo:
I'm afraid you'll have another 9 days to wait before I can post photos (when Raven finally allows me to get any!). Any pups that don't stay here will be rehomed via my waiting list.
