The Lovlies
Honey had a small litter of 5 last time which she raised beautifully, without losing any condition herself. I was really pleased with her last litter and retained a gorgeous mink, who won her class at Topcliffe. So I decided to repeat the mating. Last time Honey did not really show at all, this time she had obvious baby bumps, so I thought I was in for a bigger litter, but no, Honey obviously likes a more easily handled brood, because she had 3! Mind they were 3 woppers!
Honey is a long haired BEC and has lovely type and temperament, Oscar a long haired, satni, sable roan, is also a nice boy, very sweet.
We have a satin BEC roan male, a sable female and a satin BEC female. One of these babies was reserved before it was born, to go to a family who had met the brother from the last litter. I love both of the girls and it will be a very hard decision to decide who will stay, to go showing! The spare one will be rehomed privately!

Re: The Lovlies
Oh my they look amazing. Choosing who should go and who should stay is one of the reason i don't think i'll ever breed (others are time and well I know nothing of it at the moment so it'll take a long time to get on top of everything, plus with almost no good breeders near me its going to take lots of time/money and journeys to source good lines).

Re: The Lovlies
samzyzg, Fiona's only at the Borders so that's not too far from you! so if you wanted a breeder ham, there's always that. if that's a bit too far, perhaps we could do a hamtrain? I have a friend who lives in the Borders, near Melrose, who studies in Edinburgh with me, and I could always pop across the bridge to Fife.

Re: The Lovlies
As you probably know I am not a Syrian girl, dwarfie girl through & through. But the first picture has melted my heart.
Such a pretty face!

Re: The Lovlies
They are 4 weeks old and yes they are chunky! Mum is a Tristar ham and is around 235 - 240g and such a sweetie! I much prefer these small litters, as I find rehoming quite stressful. It is so nice when they go to forum members and you know they will be well cared for! I do try to get to a few of the Northern Hamster club shows, so if anyone ever wants me to train something up over the Border, you can always see if I'm going to a suitable show.

Re: The Lovlies
I can imagine finding a home for 10+ pups would be a nightmare...I can't remember who it was on the forum but they had 18 baby syrians!! It would be amazing to care for them but a nightmare to find decent homes for ALL of them !!
