Question Syrian breeder in Doncaster/South Yorkshire

Since my bad experience with a well known pet store, ive decided to go to a breeder, but cant find any through the net, they either have no websites or the links dont work.we are away on hols in July so will be wanting one after then, preferable a boy. i have no idea about buying from a breeder, so any help would be appreciated price etc.

Can you get along to one of the northern shows? There may be a suitable hamster there that you could pick up. If you have a look at the schedule on the NHC website or on our show board you will be able to see which is closest.

Hope it helps.

There isn't really anyone that close to you caerleon but if you fancy coming to Emley show which is not that far from you really and a nice day out I'm sure there will be baby hamsters for sale or you could pick up one you have already reserved. It is at the start of August and I am show secretary at this one. I could find out nearer the time for you what is booked in. I think your nearest would probably be Madabouthamsters in Grimsby actually.

Archie did a 4 hour trip and came from Madabout and was absolutely fine. Might be different if traveling by public transport mind.

if getting the train, your ham should be okay - I brought mine up from London on a 4½ hour journey not including getting to the station, finding my seat, getting back to my flat in Edinburgh etc etc. he was a little stressed but after letting him settle, he was fine.

The site is updated very frequently caerleon! Not sure where you are looking but the Rotherham show is 9th September I think as I am judging Syrians!
The breeders list may not be updated so often though but all you can do is ask by e mail what is available. If you want to PM me then I can tell you if they are still breeding currently.
The charge for a pedigree baby hamster is £8 minimum donation and for an older hamster on donations (up to 10 months) is £5 minimum at Northern shows. Should you choose to book from a breeder who will be attending the show and passing a hamster on then this can be booked into welfare and it will likely be a similar cost.
