Hi KimOrbit. I wish you every luck in sorting out your problems and am relieved you won't think of breeding again until you have the correct knowledge.
You won't find any better advice on hamsters and hamster breeding then you will on this forum.
Good luck

Thank you so much!!
I am trying hard to face my problems and solve them instead of escaping from them.

Well, I have given Hammy and Kimmy to my brother to look after them, cause I am in exam season now! Then I can't breed them again :P
But Im taking care of Danny (the little one) hardly!! but how cute is he

Er... If you can't care for your hams when you have exams then you probably shouldn't keep all three hams. We've got nine and have plans for the days life gets busy and we still need to care for them.
They're your pets, your responsibility. Its nice your brother is willing to help but if you need the help I would rehome at least Danny. What if one gets ill during exam time? If you can't care for them normally you'd not be able to help them through illness either.
Its good you've made sure someone else cares when you can't, but even so... Having them when you can't always care for them when life gets busy seems wrong to me. What if life gets busy unexpectedly and your brother isn't there?

And how old is Danny? If he's less than 4 weeks old you've taken him away from Mum too early.

The dam ate the pups because you touched them before their eyes opened and got your sent on them. Smelling you on them made her think a predator (ie you) wanted them so she figured that she would get the nutrition from them instead of you.

As far as your problems, everyone one has problems. I mean a year ago my mom died at the ripe old age of 47, my partners aunt committed suicide at the age of 48 and my little brother went to jail. I say all of this not out of a need for attention, but because I understand having problems and needing therapy. I am glad that you now see the error of your ways in using animal to escape your emotional problems, but I am dishearten to find out that at least 5 baby hamsters life were lost in your lesson. I would suggest that you give all 3 of the hamsters that you have left to your "breeder" friend and focus on the research completely!

I'm sorry but i don't think I can read many more of the comments posted on this thread and other threads started by KimOrbit without commenting.

I am amazed at some of the unpleasant remarks made, some snide, some sarcastic. Some have been very kind and gently offering advise. But many others have been rather sanctimonious. I could very easily tackle each one but that is not what this forum is for.

However, I must comment on those ones (and I will mention no names) which categorically state that KimOrbit's hamster culled part of her litter BECAUSE KimOrbit touched the babies. I am sorry but one cannot know why this happened. It may be because KimOrbit touched the babies, but it may be for other reasons too -I see from other, far more experienced breeders' comments that this occurs in their litters too, even when the litters have been totally undisturbed. The comments then were 'mother knows best.' Well maybe Kimmy knew best too. Maybe her babies were unhealthy, maybe they died and she ate them to keep the nest clean. We cannot know and it is inaccurate, unhelpful, upsetting (to me, at least) and unfair to categorically tell KimOrbit that this is the reason why. If this happens to experienced breeders without a clear reason it could just happen to KimOrbit too.
Just because some posters do not agree that KimOrbit should have bred the litter is no reason to post snide and unhelpful remarks. She had said that she realises this was wrong. It should be left there. i think it is far more important than KimOrbit remains on this forum to learn more -just think, she may need advise about one of her hamsters, and may feel unable to seek advise from the more experienced and less judgemental breeders because of the negative and unpleasant remarks made to her. And then the little hamsters that so many posters seem so concerned about may suffer. This reminds me of school yard bullying. KimOrbit has told you many times that she has problems. It may be that she really doesn't need any negative comments to add to those problems, irrespective of how many problems we ourselves have and believe we have overcome without the need to resort to breeding hamsters. I am astonished at the unkindness displayed here. When I joined i thought it would be about hamsters, and instead find hectoring and badgering, and even one poster suggesting that no hamsters should be bred in Iran, full stop! I note that poster was American, and cannot help wondering is there is a connection, which takes the whole debate one whole step further away from the welfare of KimOrbit's hamsters.
I appreciate that all posters on this forum care about hamsters and their welfare. So do I. I happen to also care about humans. I think that some posters should think twice before venting their spleen on others. It may be that those of us living in England/Europe/America have absolutely no idea what it is like to live in Iran. Just a thought.
Finally, I do not condone Kim Orbit breeding hamsters. There are enough in the world already, one only has to have a look at Gumtree or PreLoved. The poster who kindly and sensitively suggested KimOrbit might be better placed to rescue may have a very valid point, perhaps the best suggestion made in all of these threads (apart from the actual welfare comments by posters like Souffle, etc.).

Kim Orbit, if this comment is reproduced in full, and if you have read it, do stay on the forum. You may need some advice in future, and there are some very experienced -and responsible!- owners and breeders available here. Good luck with your exams.
