Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
They look very cute.
Mum looks like a red eyed cream and I assume dad was a black dominant spot banded combination as some of the pups have bands, some dominant spots and some combinations.
Not sure just yet on the colours of the pups but the light ones are either red eyed creams or cinnamons or some of each. Looks like the dark ones are black dominant spot and black dominant spot banded combo and the greyish ones are a puzzle. Probably some sort of grey mix as they are agouti or grey domi spots / bands.
Your parents are carrying a lot of recessives by the look of things.

Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
Mum is dark eyed cream and dad is completely white with black skin on ears, but if you take really close look at him - you can see very light coloured cream patterns around the neck and back, but they are so light that they almost canīt be recognised.

Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
Dad is obviously hiding a pattern if his ears are mottled and he has patterned pups.
The mother is definitely red eyed as her ears match the colour. If she were black eyed the ears would be very dark grey black. The eyes are not a bright pink but a very very dark red and you can see this in the pics.
Dad may be a domi spot banded cream with very pale cream. Does he have any ticking at all? Black or brown tips to any of the fur. There is some chance he may be a ghost yellow which would mean the cream is masking the yellow making him only have a shadow of the yellow but with the patterns the cream would be more likely.
That is the danger of breeding with patterns, hidden or not in that if they had both been carrying the white belly gene you could have had eyeless white babies.
If dad was a cream roan he would definitely have been carrying the white belly gene as this is what would make him roan. The babies are healthy but it is something to consider in the future. If the male is a ghost yellow getting yellow into cream lines is not a good idea as it is a devil to get out again with the cream being epistatic and hiding the yellow. Sometimes you just cannot see it in ghost yellows then it pops up!

Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
Er... There are a lot of shades of red. Souffle really does know what she's talking about and I'd listen to her words and advice if I were you.
Personally I think that if Souffle says your ham is a red eyed cream because of the ears, its a very dark red eyed cream. Frankly I'd trust her if she told me Scamp was a red eyed sable and as far as I'm aware those don't even exist lol
Our Scruff is a really dark red eyed ham. We thought she had black eyes for a while but they're actually a really deep red.

Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
this is my red-eyed cream banded satin, who has very very dark red eyes. looks almost black, no? mine was identified as red-eyed because of his ear colour - black eyed creams will have dark ears to match their eyes.
I'm willing to bet that yours is the same case. just very very very dark red eyes.

Re: Syrian Hamster: Unique dots
The one in the picture IS red eyed.
The eyes in a red eyed animal can vary from a really light pink to a deep deep red, almost brown and can look black in pictures.
See my signature and the two syrians. The one on the left is a black eyed cream - really dark ears, the one on the right is a cinnamon - red eyes that look almost black and much paler ears with some pigment. The eyelids of a skin around the eye lids of a BEC is also pigmented and the REC pink.
I can see from the pictures and assure you that the mother is red eyed. Some of the pups are also red eyed as you can see from the pics.
