Rosie x Ruaridh 25/04/12
Rosie is a black, tort domspot who came from the lovely Bourne valley. She has good size, type and I think is a very pretty ham. She is a typical tort, always busy, first at the door to come out, demanding attention, then she is off to explore, not sitting still for a minute!
Ruaridh is a melanistic yellow and was the keeper from my first litter. He is a large lad of good type, but his colouring could be more even. He has the lovliest temperament and would just sit for a cuddle all day long, (no one told him he has the yellow gene!).
I am expecting blacks, melanistic yellows and black tort females, with half being solid and half domspot. There may be some suprises if other recessive genes are shared!
I'm hoping for a really fabulous patterned baby to take showing. Any other pups will be rehomed to other breeders or to suitable pet homes.
The babies are now 19 days old and are zooming about all over the place! They appear to be all male from a very quick look at very wriggly bottoms! We have 2 melanistic yellows, a mel yel dom spot, a black and a black dom spot and the 2 yellowy ones, which have ticking coming through. I think these may be chocolate yellows.

Aww Fiona they are beautiful. I quite like male hamsters you know and the wee guys in pictures 4 and 5 are gorgeous. Not that they all aren't but, well you know. They look great - always so exciting to see babes.

They are all so cute. I could never breed as I'd never be able to part with a single baby.

Babies are 3 and 1/2 weeks old now and growing on really well. We have a black dom spot, a long haired melanistic yellow, a short haired mel yel, a mel yel dom spot, 2 of the paler melanistic yellows and also a plain black.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh They are all so beautiful. Congratulations to mom and dad. The little black and white one is the image of my Dusty when he was a baby.
