All people mean is that it is recommended to know where a hamster comes from, a breeder (such as Souffle or LisaB) will have (at least, usually) a 5 generation pedigree, so they'll know if a line of hamsters is particularly prone to tumours, has any genetic issues, and if it does they won't breed with it.

When breeding hamsters you should know exactly the genes your hamsters carry, and the colour combinations that they will make (some colours are recommended not to be bred together)

This site is a good place to start off with when looking at genetics
Genetics and Inheritance

The reason that people get very upset about people breeding from unknown animals is that you bring these hamsters into the world, but any genetic malformations, or suchlike, has to be lived with by the hamster.

Hope all the pups are healthy

I wish mummy hamster the best with her litter and I do hope all goes well.
As you've found, breeding is not taken lightly on this forum. Those who do breed, do it for show and to produce lines with improved standard. Though we do love to help with newbies as its important, but please understand why their may be criticism.
Fortunately it sounds like you have compatible female and male colourations, though the genetics can't be determined without a hamsters pedigree. Not only is it important to know that its not a dangerous mating, but also to know whether desirable colours will be produced.

Yes, everyone is a newbie once, but some are more prepared and well researched than others .

Do you care about the pups your hamster will have? Seems pretty obvious to me that you don't - if you did you would be breeding properly, not in a way that will most likely produce unhealthy, bad tempered pups.

I urge you to watch these videos, it will give you an idea of how careless breeding (which is exactly what you are doing) can affect the hamsters that are born -

Please, please, please do this properly - don't breed a hamster before you do proper research and have a pair of hamsters that you know the pedigree of, not some random hamster from a neighbour.

Show that you love hamsters and breed the healthiest, happiest hamsters you possibly can, not just any hamster.

Oh I hope someone here gets through to you

right then i wont breed my hamsters if everyone is so against it, i came here to get advice does that make me a careless heartless person because i want to start breeding my hamsters, i came here for advice not to be lectured, i guess i will just leave this site and fine somewhere else where people actually give advice because they want to help new breeders not lecture them and tell them they should not breed.
