Default Water Bottle Climber

Hello,

I have a WW named Joe & he is in a big bin cage. I have two other WW girls one in the same big bin cage as Joe & one in a perfecto tank.

The girls never climb their water bottles at all. I have velcroed a classic mouse bottle to both their bin cage & glass tank & its never fallen off.

But Joe keeps climbing it to try & get out but he can't because the bin cage is verry high even when he stands on the top of the bottle full streached out.

Because he climbs his bottle it keeps falling down & the sticky side to the velcro becomes less sticky & keeps falling off.

Someone surgested to make a whole therough the bin cage & push the spout through & velcro the bottle to the outside of the cage. But as he is verry obsessed with his bottle he might chew a bigger whole.

Has anyone else got any surgestions on what I can do to keep the bottle attached to the bin cage.

Thanks xxx

I use cable ties for mine. I have one looped around the bottle and then another one connected to the top of the bin and duct-taped to the loop.So far my Syrian hasn't touched it (and I know he can reach the top as he stands on his wheel!).

If my description doesn't make sense I can try and take a pic later

How about one of the universal bottles that has a hook in the top? You can loop some wire through it and hang it from the top of the bin cage. That way the hamster can still drink from the bottle but not really get a grip on it or or climb it

yh the universal bottles are really good
Theres a number of ways they can attach to a bin - hooked over the top, a hole drilled and attached by screw or hooked though a hole with the pin it comes with.

On ecf its only 99p for the bottle itself with the pin, then £1.49 for the holder
