Default My dwarf hamster escaped once, and is now completely obsessed with escaping

My dwarf hamster lives alone in a big cage and was quite happy in it. She's completely tame (well, I was sort of tricked into buying her because she's actually very bite-y by nature, but I love her so I put up with it, so she's as tame as she can be). When she wakes up I'll put a hand in her cage and she jumps right on, spends a while having her dinner and walking around on me (and biting me).

The issue is that all she wants is escape. After having her time in her ball (which she loves so much that she leaps into it), and a while with me holding her, she bites the bars like crazy. When I put her into play-pen type enclosures she just jumps up around the edges and tries to run away.

She started being like this after she escaped for four days. When she finally appeared it was clear she was only a day or two from starving to death and for a while afterwards she was so grateful to have food and her house that she barely even nibbled us.

Now it seems like she's forgotten the bad bits of her escape and just wants freedom again! There is one more time that she's managed it but she went directly to a jumper that I'd flung on my bed and nested in it, so I found her very quickly.

I'm not too sure what to do.

She shouldn't be bored since I change her toys around when I clean her cage, currently she has: a wheel, a big unusually shaped tube, a cardboard tube, a little wicker ball, a three-storey house, a hanging obstacle course and masses of room to run around. But she has another 10 or so toys aside from that that I swap around. I hide little treats around her cage when I put her away.

Her cage is well sized. She gets plenty of time out and about. I'd really like to think she is happy and this is just a habit she's gotten into, but I don't know... Any advice?

Sorry for the long post!
