Is my hamster ignoring me?
I just got a new Syrian hamster yesterday. He isn't reacting when I make sounds/talk to him even when I'm right in front of him. My past 2 Syrians both acknowledged me when I made sounds/talked to them. Is he ignoring me or is it something else?

Re: Is my hamster ignoring me?
Hi and welcome to HC!
He may be more interested in exploring his new home than humans at the moment.
I'd give him a few days to settle in and find his way round before expecting a response from him but keep talking so he gets used to your voice.

Re: Is my hamster ignoring me?
As Ria said, keep talking to him so he can get used to the sound of your voice. He may also simply be a little more shy than your other hamsters, which might explain why he isn't reacting when you talk. You should leave your hamster alone for atleast 3days before interacting with him just so he gets used to his surroundings. There's nothing to really be worried about.
