Default New Russians fighting or dominance?

I am an experienced Syrian owner of many years but decided on a pair of Dwarves.

The new pair were from the same tank but one is a bit larger than the other and this one is the aggressor from 10 minutes of being in their new enclosure.

After 3 more 'fights', and after reading here, I decided to separate them - at least for 24-36 hours to see whether it could be dominance or true fighting.

What I need to know is if they should be kept apart or if I can try to re-introduce?

I know everyone will groan but they are from Pets at Home (UK). I personally have never had a problem with Syrians from them.

You can’t reintroduce them once they’ve been separated, it’s almost certain theywill fight & it will be stressful for both of them, quite apart from injuries or worse the stress is really bad for their health too.
They live very happily alone & don’t need the company of another hamster so there’s no reason to put them back together.

The big problem with pets at home is that they state dwarfs are sociable and can be kept in pairs which is simply not true.

Your hamsters will be so much happier living in their own territory and you've done well separating them when they needed to.
