Default Hamster scratching and biting bathroom spot only

I have had syrian hamsters before and they've always done this, but my current hamster does it way more than I feel is normal.

Some background, I rescued her from a bad housing situation where she was housed with like 10 other young adult syrian hamsters in a really small cage with no wheel (I think this is why she has behaviour problems but she is not aggressive in anyway)

My cage is a diy bin cage and the absolute largest one i could ever find. I've supplied it with tons of tubes and a tunnel system under her bedding as well as on top and a large amount of bedding for her to dig around in because she is certainly a borrower.

She has a nice large silent wheel and toys and food (scattered) galore and is played with daily for many hours a day (we also have a similar sleep schedule because of it haha).

Anyway, this behavior is something I've noticed in my other hamsters. They will scratch and bite the corner of their pee spot ONLY. She only seems interested in biting at her bathroom area and it's really gross. So I'm wondering what this might mean?

She is an incredibly high maintenance hamster than all the other youngish Syrians I've had before and doesnt ever seem content with what I give her.

I've even made a massive floor play pen for her to scurry about when shes wanting out of her cage and I'm too tired to hold her since she doesnt sit still.

She is a princess for sure and I love her dearly, but what does the scratching in the pee spot mean?

I know scratching means she wants out and under normal circumstances I would think I need to make a bigger cage or give her more stuff to do or play with her more, but i have certainly been reaching those standards already, in my opinion...
So why always and only the bathroom area? Is it a scenting thing? It's the only thing I can think of (other than shes mentally challenged or something, which given her past, might be it too).
