How to get my hamster to eat?

My hamster Kiwi has started losing weight slowly over the past few weeks. She hoards a lot (I can pretty much take out 3 handfulls at any given time) and has gone from about 42 grams all the way down to 34 grams. I am using a new, fattier food as recommended by the breeder, as well as giving her another fatty food. She gets about 20 grams of food every 2 days, in a bowl. I scatterfed before, but she just hoards more if I do that. When I fill up her bowl, she just brings all of it to her nest as fast as she can.
Her teeth are fine. I really don't want her to lose a lot of weight as winter is approaching.

Rather than trying to give extra fatty foods I would try to give her a balanced diet in a form she will eat this might mean soaking some hamster pellet type food for her, giving additional things like porridge and baby food.
Most importantly though you need to try to find out why she’s losing weight, I would get her checked over by your vet as soon as possible.

Are you taking food out of her horde? If so stop doing that - unless it has been wee’d on - she may eat from her horde without you noticing. But since she is loosing weight you could try as cypher says. Other foods to try are a few grains of cooked rice or small piece of cooked potato.

I wouldn’t feed rice or potato to a ham that’s been losing weight as there are so little nutrients that they need in them.
