Unhappy Wet tail?

Hello everyone!
My hamster Georgie is 1 year and 3 months old (I have had him since he was 4 months old and I got him from a very very good hamster breeder that made sure everything was okay for the hamsters- no cruelty at all) and loves to run! Like literally loves it. He runs around my room for sometimes 3 hours and still wants to keep on running. He never ever sits still in your arm, he just runs over you hehe. He also drinks a lot and loves food.

Lately I have been very worried as Georgie is not the usual himself.
2 days ago he took several naps on my sisters arm, cuddled up in her hands.
He also is nipping (gently biting) a lot lately which is unusual.
Yesterday I noticed that his bottom was very wet when I held him and it smelled like pee. He then just slept the whole entire night and evening which has never happened before. He ate his vegetables but only touched the dry food that I put directly in the bowl, not the part that I scattered around his cage. He walks so so extremely slow it seemed exhausting for him to walk.. I am so worried. He looks really sleepy and barely comes out since yesterday evening. He usually doesn’t pee in his sleeping corner but maybe because he is so tired he just doesn’t move and then just pees in his sleeping corner (which is a little log house) is the cause for his wet bottom? I am really really worried please help!!!!
Greetings x

If you have a good relationship with the breeder I would go back to them to talk about what’s going on as I guess they have much experience of keeping hamsters or consult a vet, you need to act quickly if you think it’s wet tail to the vet

I suggest a vet visit. He is not that old at 15 months. By 18 months they are considered to start being old. Having said that their lifespan can vary a lot and they can develop illness as they get older. Wet tail is watery diarrhoea so it doesn’t sound like that. Too much veg can also give them diarrhoea so it’s best to only give very small amounts daily - eg 1cm cubed size (doesn’t have to be a cube - that’s just a size example).

But it sounds like he needs a vet check.
