Was her old cage a barred cage as well? Also I’m just wondering if it is to do with top opening. Some hamsters don’t like a hand coming from above and running at your hand does sound territorial/like stress. Did the old cage have too or front opening?

Her old cage was plastic but it was tiny, it was a top opener as well!
