Default Hamster scratching?

So i just noticed my hamster scratching herself, i think... she took a running start, and kinda jumped and rolled onto the side of her tunnel. She kept doing this, and rubbing her side against it while she ran. Looked like she was trying to scratch, she was definitely doing it on purpose. She really made sure to get her back.

Is this normal?

I知 taking her to the vet soon anyway, i think she has some stuff in her cheek, it smells pretty gross. I値l make sure to mention this to the vet. it would be nice to get some clarification anyway, i知 already worried about her, so if you know anything about this shoot me a reply

is it possible your hamster is just marking her territory? they kind of fling themselves around and rub them selves against things when doing that.

Re the smell, that is not a good sign and does need looking at. Someone else was talking about impacted pouches the other day and could you maybe try and massage it. Someone else on here may have more advice re that.

I took her to the vet yesterday, there was nothing in her pouches thankfully. She was given anesthesia today and they still couldn稚 find anything, the vet just said her lips and mouth looked red and irritated, and we got prescribed some medication that will calm her irritation.

Yesterday she did start itching and scrathing her mouth a lot though, so i think that痴 what she was doing before as well. I hope that its just a minor infection or something like that. she is probably fine, since the vet couldnt find anything. The smell was definitely there, but it wasnt strong.

Its just scary, cause i dont know what to think. The vet didnt see anything, but theres clearly something bothering her? I dont know. I guess i値l just have to trust the vet. She is a rodent specialist too, so she knows what shes talking about. Its probably fine, for now
