Chewing On Wheel
I have a Syrian hamster who is around 4-5 months old. She is in a 650sqin cage with many different types of things to chew on. Presley also has an 11in wodent wheel. She recently started to chew on the sides (which are hard plastic), so doesn't worry me too much, but she also is chewing on the metal stand for it. I don't want her to break her teeth. I tried putting her favorite chew behind her wheel where she usually chews to see if I can refocus her chewing, but it didn't work. Does anyone know of anyway to help get her to stop? I don't think it is boredom because she is taken out of her cage when she wakes up anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour almost everyday. I have a section of my room that is hamster proofed so she can free roam there as well as I let her run around on me when she wants. She is also a bit lazy and always has been. Which is another reason I don't think the chewing is boredom

Re: Chewing On Wheel
You could try and move the wheel then see what happens. Maybe its in her way but that's a pure guess.

I try it, but I’m not sure it will help because her wheel is in the same spot I’ve ha fit since I got her :/ I think she’s just being difficult and doing it because she knows I’ll come over to the cage to make her stop. I’m just very nervous about her little teeth
