Default Trying to go to each other after seperated - please help!

So I have a pair of winter whites that I seperated because their behaviors seemed to turn from playing to fighting - one would constantly chase the other and they would not sleep or eat together anymore. One hamster would steal all the food in the bowl and hoard it.

I seperated the cage with one of the glass detolf shelves in the middle, but since there's a small crack between the wall and the glass shelf, they keep sniffing through the crack and trying to go through; however, if their hands or noses touch through the crack, they will squeak like they are fighting again. What should I do?

They really need their own territory so even a little crack where they have contact is too much, is there any way you could completely seal it up so they have no contact whatsoever? If not I would recommend putting them in separate cages.

Most likely they know that there ius bigget teritory and they want more. That doesn't mean that they miss each other. They might just want to kill the other one and take that teritory

As well as sealing up the cracks, you might try putting a solid piece of wood in as well as the glass, so that they can't see each other.
