The HH works best just as a plain cage with one shelf left in and the Penthouse and tubes removed (it comes with caps to block off the tubes). It is a good size and has a huge door that goes right to the top of the cage - one of the best things. Plus low height. You can sometimes find them second hand on ebay cheaper although with the current situation that might not be easy or a good idea - not sure.
Also forgot to add - at four months old your hammie is still a child - very young - easily scared. I'm sure he'll soon settle down.

Okey, now I understand much more. I have had the alaska before and I think it is a okey cage, but the quality of the bars is bad because it falls apart so quickly.
Here in norway the HH have a price at 86,99 euro.
I have given him sunflower seeds between the bars and he seems to like it.He have also gotten whizees and seems to like it.

Re: Attacked by my hamster
Sorry can’t see a link for the house. The HH is much better quality than the Alaska. Well made, good handles, much better made bars, easier to lift the bars off as it’s lower. Do you also have the Savic Mickey 2XL available in Norway? I have that one. It is basically exactly the same cage as the HH but has narrow 7mm bar spacing and doesn’t come with all
The useless colourful plastic stuff! I have that cage and love it - it’s fairly future proof also as bar spacing is narrow enough for a Robo. I’ve had two Syrians and a Robo in it. In the Uk though it costs more than the HH and is only available on Amazon. It is basically just an empty cage and you add what you want - it does come with a metal grid shelf but that is bad for hamsters so needs taking out (intended for mice I think). I add a flat roofed large house which then doubles up as a shelf but you can add a shelf as well. Anyway I would go with that or the HH for a dwarf. Not cheap but fairly future proof.

Re: Attacked by my hamster
The Leif house would be great for a dwarf hammy. The other one linked is more for out of cage in a playpen area but could be nice - I am not sure it is worth the money but the Lief labyrinth house is a good buy - they like somewhere dark to nest and the two entrances.

Re: Attacked by my hamster
They’re not really suitable as a house/nesting box - better if it is open underneath so breathes better, they can burrow down and bury hoards under their nest.

I have checked it and the store does not want to sell the cage because of the shelf.

Re: Attacked by my hamster
Do you mean the Savic Mickey 2XL? The wire shelf just lifts out - you just take it out
