Change in Sleeping Patterns
I'm not really sure if this is something I should worry about, but when I first got my hamster, she would wake up around 11 PM and be up until about 6 or 7 AM. Lately, though, she hasn't been waking up until 5AM and is up until 12 or 1PM. I have never woken her up in the day to play with her and wait for her to wake up. She is in my room, but I keep it as quiet as possible in there during the day to not disturb her. I'm just wondering if someone else had this happen and if it is something to worry about? Absolutely nothing else is wrong with her she's incredibly active, eating very well, drinking fine, chewing like crazy on her toys so I don't think she is sick. The only thing I can think of is that I have room darkening curtains that I almost never open during the day. Could the constant dark be messing with her schedule? Should I just leave it alone and let her do her thing or is it something I should do something about? She's the first hamster I have owned that has done this.

Re: Change in Sleeping Patterns
Hamsters have a body clock just as we do, they react to changes from night to day as well as changes in day length, I would open the curtains during the day so she can get into a more natural & healthy cycle, some hams are active during the day & she still may be but it is important for overall health long term that she has some indication of time & season.
