Syrian keeps biting corners of free roaming room
Hi! It's been a while.. Things got a little hectic over here but me and Jupiter have been doing fine. I have noticed some behaviour in Jupiter though that I would like to discuss.
Jupiter is a very energetic Syrian who needs her space. She didn't like a playpen so I let her free roam in my hallway and occasionally my small dressing room which you can enter from the hallway.
She's still often biting bars but I've noticed that if I ignore her long enough she'll stop (doesn't mean it's not worrisome, though)
But I digress.. The problem I'm facing now is that she keeps biting the corners of the door frames in the hallway. At first it wasn't that much so I let her, but now she has bitten off some paint and just keeps going. Just now I let her roam in the dressing room, which is carpeted. She started to dig and chew on the corner of the carpet and I couldn't get her to stop. Every time I'd try and get her away she was dead set on continuing. It was almost aggressive.
I'm wearing a sweater with very long sleeves and I used them to scoop her up during this, to which she attacked my sweater. However when she noticed my hands were under there she stopped (I'm still super surprised I managed to get it into her system that it's not okay to bite me, she'll bite my clothes but never my skin)
After I held her in my hands she seemed calm, almost like "huh? what did I do?"
Idk what's going on here or how to fix this. I was thinking on maybe putting something over the corners of the room, but I have no idea what. But most of all I want to make sure Jupiter is doing okay. Can anyone help?
