Unhappy My new syrian hamster sleeps too much?

Hello!
So i bought my new Syrian hamster four days ago. We left her alone for the first 24h, letting her ajust and such. The first day she slept all day, which i assumed was normal. We usually wake up around 11-12am, she was already asleep and she only woke up around 11pm that night. We tried to offer her some treats that night but she still seemed scared, so we left her alone.
The next day, same thing, she slept all day until almost midnight. That day we tried to give her a treat and she took it. (she did bite my boyfriend but it didnt seem vicious, she took a bunch of treats from his hand afterwards). After walking around for 30-40 minutes, she went back to sleep and i she slept more until i went to bed around 2am. I could hear her running on her wheel around 5am.
The third day, she sleeps all day again, wakes up at 11pm(she has slept for at least 12 hours at this point), walks around, eats, drinks, uses her sand bath for around 30 minutes and goes back to bed. We go to sleep at 4am that night and she still wasnt up. (i did hear her being up later in the night).

Im just wondering is it normal for her to sleep THAT much? I know they sleep mostly during the day but shes been sleeping all the time basically, waking up for only 30 minutes and going back to bed.

(she has a 100x50x50 cm cage, full with lots of things to do, chew and explore and shes 8 weeks old)

She may not be sleeping all that time, some hams are quite shy at first & will mostly come out when it's quiet & no one is around until they get a little more confident & venture out when you're around.
It would be normal for her to sleep or stay in her house most or all of the day then get up during the night, if you're up a lot during the night she may just be trying to fit coming out around your schedule, it's early days so just talk to her quietly when you're around even if she is in her house or sleeping & give her a little more time to settle in.

Is 8 weeks still considered a baby?

I know they only live until they are 2.5-3years but yes. Your hamster will be growing and therefore will need its sleep as it is tiring to grow in the same way as a baby/toddler/infant would. Add on also the stress of a house move, stress is also emotionally tiring. It is very normal for your hamster to be sleeping.

This is reassuring, I was about to post about something very similar! We got our first hamster yesterday, a male Syrian. He slept from when we got back and had finished poking around the cage, from about 12 to 7pm, then rocketing around, in the wheel etc. most of the night. He was up and doing stuff this morning but went off to sleep about 9am and has been sleeping ever since (it’s 7pm now).

He is 11-12 weeks. My daughter was so worried about whether he was ok she was getting quite upset. But he does poke his nose out every now and then so he seems ok, and not lethargic or anything when he is up.

Is that pretty normal then? We don’t really know what to expect! Thanks.
