Just use a shoebox I'm sure she'll like it. If you're thinking of a diy cage, have you seen the Linmon cage? The house needs to be dark inside for her to want to use it so just bear that in mind if you're making one with lolly sticks. It's a nesting box basically. I think it might distract her out of wanting to escape. The bungee cords might do the trick - although she has been ok so far it's always worrying in case she was lost or got injured.

I was hoping to give her the shoebox today but the weekend was busier than expected so I haven't gotten around to it yet. Fortunately my dad was able to make a new and sturdy lid! It looks great and she hasn't been able to lift it yet. I hope it stays that way!

I will try and find things to distract her with because so far she's been ignoring all my boredom breakers. I try and take her out of her cage every evening for free running in the hallway. It does help with her energy but she has so much of it!

You have quite the escapist! I hope that a bigger cage and the shoebox nest will persuade her to be a bit less hyper. And hopefully she decides to pee somewhere that isn't her nest!
