She will be so so happy!!! I bet you are just as happy watching your hamster enjoying her new home.

Yes, i took the plastic shelf out and put a smaller, wooden Trixie shelf in its place to free up some space.

Watch your hamster for a while to find out what she likes to do and then add more enrichment.

Here's a close up photo of the wicker tunnel lined with a bath sand tube connected to the Trixie ladder hooks and supported by a kitchen role tube.
Its sturdy enough for my 230g, height loving hamster who, surprisingly, does not climb the bars.

Thanks Ria x , Iíve ordered the Degu shelves. I already have the bridge and an empty sand tube (I didnít like the sand, itís gone on the garden). She is a climber and loves scaling the sides but Iíve made the bedding really deep so she will bounce if she decides to jump! I wonít change anything too quickly, let her settle first.

Iím loving seeing her in it, makes me 😊

Heís a photo of my beautiful girl, she seemed quite unsettled tonight, climbed out onto my hand and promptly turn round and got back in her cage! I spot cleaned today and had to hoover the room sheís in and although she didnít appear bothered aka stayed in bed, perhaps it made her feel a bit unsettled.

What a lovely looking hamster and so alert with the ears perked up! She's beautiful.
Maybe she's enjoying her new home so much that she doesn't want to come out tonight, lol.
My Syrian is like that. When he's not in his house he's in his coconut hut and rarely asks to come out.
It's great to see them happy with their habitats.

She is lovely, it's early days so the spot cleaning & hoovering may have unsettled her a bit or maybe she just wanted a lie in! She'll soon get used to those things though.

If you're in the UK then Facebook marketplace always has Ikea detolfs going and they're so good for female syrians. Our Mimi was rescued from some plastic micro-prison and now loves her detolf so much.. plus it was cheaper than a cage and looks nicer, and gives her more space! I spent £12 on wood and mesh to make her lids.
