After an upgrade?

Hello everyone! I've got a new cage arriving tomorrow and just wanted to know how best to help my little robo adjust to the new cage. I'm not going to put in any new toys/hides or anything that he isn't used to yet but the cage is around 2.5X bigger in floorspace than his current one so it will be a pretty big change for him. How long should I leave him alone for after I move him in? And if he seems fine and is exploring will it be fine to do things like offering treats (I would still consider him to be mid taming as he is perfectly fine with petting and taking treats but can still be quite jumpy).

It's great you are upgrading your hammy! Not sure how long you have had your hamster but it is like when you brought him home the 1st time. You will be placing him in a new environment that he has to get accustomed to. I would recommend saving some of his bedding so he won't feel totally out of place. I also don't think it would be a bad idea to put new items in the cage, as the middle area might be empty and lots of empty space can actually stress a hamster out. I would say to let him settle for a few days, some people say a week. Depending on how your hamster reacts (if it is very stressful for him or not) then you can kinda gauge how long to leave him be if that makes sense. After the few days I would continue taming. I'm sure he's going to love it

Okay! That's about what I thought, but I will find some basic things to fill up the space like toilet rolls etc. I can't wait ^‿^
