Default Hamster biting bars

Hello!

New to hamster central but have seen lots of very kind and helpful people often posting helpful advice on the site! I am now hoping to have some advice for myself and my Syrian hamster Ziggy!

About a month ago I bought Ziggy a new cage which is the called the hamster heaven! He is quite a big Syrian so me and my partner felt he has vastly outgrown his previous cage! All seemed well at first and he seemed to really enjoy all the extra room and things to keep him busy!

Since buying the cage he seems to really enjoy sleeping in the penthouse part of the cage. Because of this we decided to put some bedding in there for him! The last week or two he has began biting the bars of the penthouse which in the night is very loud and I can not sleep if I feel he is stressed or worried it should be noted he doesn’t bite any of the other bars in the cage apart from the penthouse, it’s also usually just after he has woken up In the penthouse! He also blocks the tubes in the night before he goes to sleep! I’m
Wondering if maybe he has forgotten how to get out when he wakes up?

I have attached some feedback any help would be really appreciated!
