Default Taking food from bowl and storing it!

Every time I fill up Alvin's bowl with food, he just goes and takes all the food out and stores it in his house or the corner. When I tidy up the cage, I always take the food and put it back in the bowl or add new because it's basically empty.
Should I just leave the food where he puts it or tidying up filling the bowl back up and making sure his bowl is always full? Does his food need to be in the bowl? I find food everywhere lol, thanks!

Storing food is completely normal hamster behavior and should be encouraged! I would leave his stored food where you find it unless it's soggy or looks moldy etc, and then you'd just need to remove that bit of food and replace it with fresh clean food.

You can scatter feed instead of using a bowl which would be very good enrichment for Alvin. Even just hiding bits of food in bedding is a great enrichment tool, or on top of any houses or similar cage accessories where Alvin can safely access them. On top of objects is generally the easier approach and may work better for Alvin depending on how skilled he becomes at foraging and finding his food, but hamsters in general do very well on food that's hidden in bedding even if you don't start by placing bits of food on top of things where it's easier to access.

Keep in mind hamsters don't necessarily need bowls filled to the brim with food. The exact food amount varies by species, but even the Syrians eat very small amounts(usually a tablespoon size proper measuring spoon is suggested). Hamsters do tend to be relatively self regulating and don't eat too much food unlike some pets, but you can definitely accidentally waste food by feeding too much.
