Unhappy Hammy acting weird after coming home from friend's place

So I was away for 2 weeks and left my two hamsters Sloopy and Butt at my friend's place. I took them home today and Sloopy seemed normal as usual, a bit more shy but that's understandable. But Butt didn't come out at all which is a bit weird. My friend told me that he hadn't spot cleaned at all and his bin smelled awful so the first thing i did was change half of the bedding.

When he finally came out tonight he seemed really stress. Is it because I gave him new bedding? I didn't do a full clean so I'm not sure if that's the problem. Butt's still relatively young (like 1.5 months old) so maybe that's the problem. I realized he outgrew some of his toys so I want to change them but he seems so skittish now!

I'm worried that he'll get wet tail since he's young and syrian... what should I do? should I just leave him alone? He's flailing around and spinning on his axis lots. Also seems like he wants to escape. Does anyone have any suggestions ;-; thank you!!!
