Active hamster turned shy
Hello I got a 4 month Syrian girl a week ago today and for the first week she was very active and confident, exploring the cage and running on her wheel all night long. However, last night she didn’t come out of her bed and the same tonight apart from to take a piece of cauliflower I placed at the entrance. It has been two days and two nights she has been in bed, only having left it for about three 5 minute periods. When I came in the room she was on her wheel but ran into her bed to hide, when before she was letting me stroke her without being scared! Any help please as I am a worried new hamster owner

Re: Active hamster turned shy
a week is not long and it looks like you need to go back to basics and treat her like a brand new baby hamster and start taming her again. I'm sure she will soon settle and revert back. It is not uncommon when they move to a new home with different sounds and smells for them to go a bit feral. Be patient and start again taming
