Yes, please look into getting your hamster a wheel that has a front cover on it - something like a silent runner. or a trixie wheel

I would also be moving anything out of the way that your hamster is landing on - i.e. that wooden seesaw thing and ensure there is enough bedding for a softer landing.

The seesaw is there so that he can catapult the brocoli, it's quite entertaining actually.

I would suggest putting your pet's safety ahead of entertainment...

I agree with the comments above, getting the see-saw out of the way and ensuring there are 2-3 inches of bedding in front of the wheel for a soft landing spot would help to prevent injury in the short term.

My robo used to flip in his wheel as well, and I found switching to a larger (and better quality) one solved the problem. The larger the wheel, the slower it spins, and the less likely it is to sweep your hamster up too high if he comes to a sudden stop.
Using a closed wheel such as the Silent Runner might also be helpful.

You are right. I put a bowl of water near it so it cushions his falls. <3 thanks

Hi I would really suggest moving the water bowl further away. Hamsters should never get wet (rare exceptions would be some medicine when prescribed by the vets), as they can get ill from that easily.

Usually they only spin out of the wheels when theyre first adjusting to a new wheel but if its still happening it might be worth getting a Silent Runner (not spinner!!) wheel which is has a closed front. Its similar to the plastic trixie wheel and wodent wheel but without the metal axle through the centre so theres no risk of injuries.

Sorry, it can be sometimes difficult to read the tone of the messages online. Arnie is a beauty!
