Hyperactive Hamster!
Jenga is incredibly hyperactive. She's calm and never gets frightened or upset (she enjoyed a tube journey during rush hour!) but when I'm handling her she never, ever sits still. She's constantly running about and I have to force a cuddle.
Then, one night, I had her out and she just got onto my chest and just stayed there not moving or making a sound while I stroked her for more than 20 minutes! I occasionally spoke to her in a soft voice but I was just reading articles online. I try to catch that mood again but so far no luck. I wonder what made her so different for those 20 odd minutes. Whatever it was I loved it!

Re: Hyperactive Hamster!
My little Mo is the same... she can't stay still for longer than 2 seconds when I try to hold her - she is much more interested in trying to get away and go exploring!!
One day though, my partner picked her up, and she sat cupped in his hands for a good few minutes having a nice little stroke!! I was most put out because I'm the one who gets her out every night for and hours run around, feeds her and gives her treats!! talk about betrayal lol

Re: Hyperactive Hamster!
my herbert does that quite often. some days shes a pain and cant sit still and you have to run after her all the time so that she doenst destroy anything but sometimes she just cuddles up on me and wants to be stroked and falls asleep.

Re: Hyperactive Hamster!
She sounds like a typical youngster. They are so curious and active and always wanting to investigate.
I bet she was in season the night she cuddled in. When you stroke their backs they freeze and normall go into a trance and stick their tails up. I rather enjoy having them sit quietly like this
She should do this every 4 nights or so

Same it took Peggy a year before she would sit still and now shes happy to walk on my hand and sit there eating a treat. But i suppose i wasn't particularly responsible when i first got her and dot. So i didn't handle as much as i could have. Now i'm obsessed theres hardly a moment in the day where i don't think about my pets
Porridge was pretty good at sitting still from the beginning but he won't walk onto my hand so i have to reach in and catch him. That would be impossible in Peggys cage plus shes a robo

Re: Hyperactive Hamster!
My boy hammy does it very occasionally for about 20 seconds but he cuddled up to my mum for about 20 minutes when i was on holiday and she was ham-sitting
right now he's playing his new favourite game of climbing up daddy's leg
