Default worried - odd sleeping pattern/places

My male hamster has my worried.

He sleeps for most of the night and is awake quite alot in the day and hes not very active. he has a wheel which he hardly use's and when i put him in his ball he will run for about 10 mins then just lay there.

i woke last night about 3 in the morning and he was asleep on one of the platforms in his cage under his water bottle.
Scared the hell out of me as i thought the worse had happened.

He also has taken to sleeping in his litter tray.

Has anyone else had a hamster who is like this?
he is nearly 1 so it can not be old age.

yap my russian hamster is that lazy as well. but she isnt even active during the day. i take her out whenever i can get her out of her bed with nice treats. if that doenst work i just leave her. when she is in the ball she runs a couple of rounds and then she runs into a quiet corner and sleeps in the ball. i know she is healthy so i just leave her. she is just a lazy hamster

my russian dwarf is soooo lazy! he used to run in his wheel all night long but now he only really comes out to get food and to go in the sandbath but I know he's not ill or anything just a lazy fatty

Sausage my syrian went through a phase of sleeping in random places and I never figured out why! I think it was during the summer so I thought maybe he was getting too hot.

I'd put some extra bedding in for the little one for warmth. Eating/drinking, pooing/weeing okay?

Porridge is a lazy bum too, where as peggys seems to be up like 24 7!
I can clang about and poke porridges bed and she'll still be fast asleep

hamster are allowed to be lazy in their cages. its not like in the wild where they have to move and get something to eat. they know exactly that we feed them and give them water. so why should they move like humans: some are sporty hamsters and some are lazy couch potatoes
