If you're careful the cork may be ok - but it may start disintegrating if it has to be washed a few times. The wood/cork ones really do need waterproofing first - as most hamsters pee in their wheels occasionally, and some regularly! If you're thinking of getting the Silent runner as well, I would suggest having that as the main wheel - clean up the cork one/paint it when you can and keep it as a spare one or for playpen/out of cage time.

Ok thanks so much for the advice. The Trixie silent runner is the best? Any others I should look at?
