Default Strange behaviour

So I got my hamster a few months ago, and she is my first pet and I was given her out of nowhere. I did research when I got her but nothing came up about taming her! Long story short she has never been tamed. To take her out of her cage she climbs into her sand bath and I take her out. She won’t come on my hand inside her cage but when she comes out she does climb on my hand. This has confused me. Is it too late to start taming her?

it's never too late to start taming. I adopted a rescue last year. He was at least 1,5 years old and he became the sweetest hamster ever. It took about two months of hard work. But after that I had 5 wonderful months with him before he died.

you should def start taming her!

Not wanting to climb into your hands in the cage isn't that unusual really, some hams don't like hands in the cage but if she climbs onto your hand out of the cage then you're already on your way to taming her, just spend time interacting with her out of her cage & she'll soon become more tame.
