New Hammie Question
Hi there!
I got my hamster, Gus Gus, yesterday & today during the day I noticed he was sleeping out in the open on the highest perch of his cage ... is the normal?

Re: New Hammie Question
It is normal for baby hamsters to sleep in odd places and out in the open until they get themselves in to a routine. Be careful not to overclean the cage just now. Just clean any wet areas. It should not take long for him to establish where he wants to sleep and wee. Don't give any small enclosed houses or tubes he can set up home in as these make taming hard. A box with no bottom in it and plenty deep bedding is good for babies.

Re: New Hammie Question
When I picked my Syrian hamster it was because he was laid flat out like a pancake underneath one end of a seesaw lol. All the other hamsters in the pet shop were either awake or sleeping in the houses. Hamsters can be strange sometimes.
