Default new cage & not eating??

yesterday afternoon i moved teddy into his new, larger cage. i also got a seed mix which i added around a teaspoon of to his regular food pellets because i wanted to give him a bit more nutrients. normally in the morning, most of the food in his dish is gone, whether he be eating it or storing it. but this morning, it looked like most of it was still there. there was a bunch of bedding in it because i think he kicked it up while making his nest (he refuses to sleep in his house and instead burrows down into the bedding and has picked his spot to be near his food dish) so i empties it and added less of the seed mix and some of his treats. i’m going to see what’s there in the morning, but should i be concerned?

he seems to be running on his wheel and sleeping normally. haven’t been able to tell whether he’s been drinking.

Default Re: new cage & not eating??

It can take some time for them to adjust to a new cage, some hams even up to a couple of weeks while others adjust more quickly so you need to give him time to get used to things & you may see changes in behaviour for a while, don't worry about that, just let him settle & don't do anything other than spot cleaning pee for a few weeks at least.
Burrowing down to sleep is quite normal, what kind of house does he have? Something around shoebox size with no base so they can burrow down under that is ideal, plastic houses aren't the best, wooden houses are good but do need plastikoting inside, a cardboard box with no base & a door cut in can make a great house.
Don't worry about him tipping the bowl, you can scatter feed anyway so they don't actually need a bowl & foraging is natural behaviour for them & keeps them busy!
