Boredom
Eddie is now 14 months. A big Syrian boy. Well tamed and a delight. In recent weeks I have noticed a seeming increase in boredom that I can't break. I've tried moving his cage around, homemade and store bought boredom breakers lay abandoned after minutes, scatter feeding is quickly tidied away. When he comes out for handling he runs desperately to get back in his cage. In his ball after 2 minutes he's had enough and refuses to move, I got a paddling pool for a play pen and he just runs around the perimeter looking to escape. He is not as desperate as the late Dali, in his desire to escape. He's bored in his cage but isn't happy being out of it for long. All he seems happy doing is sitting at the front being hand fed treats like a pharaoh (I mean, who wouldn't). Last night he took his frustration out on his wheel and pulled up the cork lining, he's never been destructive before.
Any suggestions.
