Exclamation sleeping too much?

so my male syrian seems to be sleeping more today and yesterday than he was when we first brought him home. when we brought him home on the 31st (almost 5 days ago) he was awake all afternoon then for a couple days he would sleep around 9 or 10pm then wake between 2 and 7am if i’m guessing correctly then sleep till around noon and kind of repeat this. but he’s slept a lot more the past couple days and i’m worried because it’s my first time having a hamster. i read that he might be cold so i put a fleece blanket around part of the outside of his tank to help keep the heat in. any suggestions?? thanks !

update: he came out of his cage around 8:55pm and had some water, a bit of apple and did some running on his wheel, then went back into his house less than20 mins later

Default Re: sleeping too much?

Their sleep patterns do tend to change sometimes so I wouldn't worry especially as he's still quite new to his home & settling in, as long as the room is warm enough day & night & he is eating & drinking ok.
Even when the room temperature is warm enough they do sometimes sleep more when the weather is colder.
